About
I am a solo developer "mostly, my good friend helped with testing and gave me some great ideas for gameplay and puzzle ideas and he is so awesome for that" and this is my first game.
After some feedback I have decided to make it free. It was a learning experience and I don't feel comfortable enough in the quality to charge for it. If you were one of the few people who paid for it, I apologize and if there is a way I can refund your 2.99 I will try to do so.
That isn't to say I don't want people to try it, I do. Would love the feedback. I spent quite a bit of time learning Unity and creating the Character Controller, mechanics and designing the world. A lot of the graphical assets are from the Unity Asset store, in particular from Synty but pretty much anything involving code was created by me. Controllers for Character, Camera, Enemies, Boss mechanics, Puzzles, Event Systems, Dialog systems etc. I am proud of it for a first released game and I hope you enjoy it. I am starting a new game so I won't be updating it too much but if you come across any issues, please let me know and I will try my best to address them.
The game is a physics-based platforming game in which you escape a virtual maze. Solve some mini puzzles, fight some mechanic-based bosses and perform awesome physics based platforming skills using jumping and grappling.
The physics based elements were the primary focus of gameplay, hopefully you will enjoy them
The bow is also a big focus, both for grappling and fighting certain enemies. Getting the aiming to work with both controller and mouse was a challenge but hopefully it is fun to use
There are some casual platforming elements but mostly a more challenging precision platforming experience. The game was created for a younger relative who is pretty good at platforming which was the inspiration. It also has some timed modes where the player can challenge their skills after completing the campaign with leaderboards.
Troubleshooting:
The game was created using the Xbox Controller as the primary input device. Testing in this regard is a bit limited but it should work with most controllers as long as they have triggers available. Keyboard and mouse is not supported.
The minimum requirements suggest a dedicated GPU and I think that is for the best. The game has been tested on laptops with integrated graphics and it will work at lower resolutions but might not be a very good experience. Although the game itself isn't that graphically intensive, I was trying to learn Unity's overlay camera system combined with Post Processing on each overlay, it does push the GPU fairly hard. Testing in general has been somewhat limited due to the available devices available at the time.
SteamDeck performance is very solid though, if you have a SteamDeck I hope you give it a try.
Thank you
